Monty and Katharine's Story:
Monty began working in the New Hope Village Apartments (formerly known as the Massey Apartments) with a group of college and seminary students from Wakefield Baptist Church each Saturday morning, beginning February 2004. Through time in the apartments and time with the children from the apartments at church (as part of Glenn Stewarts van ministry), he developed a love for the people and the community. Katharine began working at the same Saturday Program after seeing it advertised during a chapel service at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in November of 2004. Her love for the people and community grew as she developed a close relationship with one of the families, in particular. As our friendship grew into a courtship and then an engagement, we realized that God was leading us to work in the apartments on a full-time basis and that He had placed a mutual love and vision within our hearts for the community.
