A Letter from Jeff Salisbury - Director of Community Missions

As a response to Jesus Christ’s commission to go and make disciples, the local missions ministry connects believers to ministry in the "real world" of our city. People all around us are in need. Often, people's greatest need is love expressed through meaningful relationships with people that genuinely care about their lives.

Our local missions ministry desires to help you invest in ongoing, relationship based, ministry opportunities throughout the city in order to bless others in both word and deed. As its focus, the local missions ministry connects believers with people that live among us, but are not in community with us, either at church or in our larger social networks. These people among us desire meaningful relationships, but are often cut off from interactions with other Christians seeking to bless them in Jesus' name.

I hope you will join us as we invite people in our city into community with us. Avenues of relationships exist both as ministries of our church and as partnerships with great organizations that are serving people effectively in niche areas. We often partner with other organizations to maximize the kingdom impact that is already being made. Whether as a ministry of Bay Leaf or through a strategic partnership, we endeavor to meet people's real needs while also making disciples through the relationships established with them.

To make the eternal difference in our city for which we long, we must be prepared to say as Paul says to the Thessalonians, "Being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God, but also our very own selves, because you have become very dear to us"

With prayers for you and our city,

Jeff Salisbury
