Thank You Letters

Dear Bay Leaf Baptist Church,

Our family would like to thank you for the great blessing of the Toy Chest. It is amazing to us to see God working through this ministry.

This year while we waited for the Toy Chest to begin, we received a call that my dad was being taken to the hospital and that we needed to come to South Carolina. I would like to thank you for all your help, concern and prayers during this time. We were told that you prayed for our family and we are grateful for your prayers. May God continue to bless and use your ministry.

Love in Christ. The “J” Family

To the Bay Leaf Church Family,

We would like to extend our deepest heartfelt appreciation for your love, kindness, and generosity shown to our family this holiday season through the Toy Chest. Words cannot express how much this has been a blessing to me and my family. I am just overwhelmed by your outpour of love to seminary families.

Love, The “Y” Family

Dear Friends at Bay Leaf Baptist Church,

We wanted to take a minute to say “Thank You” for your ministry to seminary students like us through the Toy Chest. You have no idea what a blessing that has been to us. May God reward you for your kindness and continue to make your ministry fruitful.

In Christ, The “H” Family

Bay Leaf Members & Volunteers,
My husband and I came to our first Treasure Chest Saturday. As we loaded the toys into our van, I became overcome with emotion by what an amazing gift this was to our family. When “M” (husband name) began here at SEBTS we went to one income and this outreach ministry blessed us beyond measure.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for doing this for us.

God Bless & Merry Christmas, The “T” Family

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
My husband and I would like to thank you so very, very, very much for reaching out to all of the seminary students the past 18 years. We want to thank you for the wonderful Christmas gifts you blessed our children with. We know that it is a blessing from HIM!

My husband and I are going to be serving in Bulgaria beginning in July of 2012. Some of the gifts you gave us will likely be played with our children’s friends in that country.

My prayer is that you all would be richly blessed and have a wonderful Christmas.

Your pastor asked if there was anything else you all could do for us….please pray for our family as we witness our lives in Bulgaria.

Thank you! God Bless you! The “R” Family

Dear Bay Leaf Baptist Church,
Words cannot express what a blessing your Toy Chest ministry has been to our family of “5” this year! We were able to purchase very nice gifts for our 3 children and we are thrilled that money given will go to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.

Thank you so much for your part in the Lord’s provision for our family!

The “B” Family

Thank you Bay Leaf Baptist Church,
I just wanted to say “Thank You” from my family for the Bay Leaf Toy Chest. This was our forth year attending and each year it is such a blessing to see the volunteers and feel the love of our church family as you minister to the seminary families. Thank you for all the hard work you have put into the Toy Chest.

In Christ, “E” Family

Dear Bay Leaf Baptist Church Members,
We cannot tell you enough how much you have touched our hearts through the Toy Chest for seminary students! This was our first year and you have no idea how surprised and overwhelmed we were when we saw all the gifts and all the generosity that others gave to this ministry! It was all such a blessing to us - from the men running coffee, to greeters, to all the givers, the raffle – everything was just amazing! You are all so blessed to be part of such a wonderful church family!

My husband commutes 3 ½ hours on Monday to attend Southeastern, so with gas expenses and all of our other expenses you will never know how much we appreciated the Christmas gifts for our two boys! We are truly thankful to God for your ministry!

Thank you to everyone who sacrificed their time to come out on Saturday to help seminary student’s children have a very Merry Christmas! The snacks were wonderful and the upstairs lightly loved (toys) section was a great idea.

May God Bless each of you who contributed in some way! You will always hold a very special place in our hearts.

Thank you again! With much love, The “D” Family

Dear Bay Leaf Baptist Church,
We would just like to send a “hug” through the mail to all who donated their time, energy and money to this year’s “Toy Chest”. We definitely felt the love of Christ extended to us through your church.

This day was extremely well organized and such a huge blessing to our family! We cannot wait to come back next year ☺

The “C” Family

Dear Bay Leaf Baptist Church,

We want to again express our thanks to you for having us as your guest at the Toy Chest last Saturday. This is the second year that we have attended; you might think we would have been prepared for the experience this year, but once again, we were overwhelmed by the love you expressed in a variety of ways toward us and the other seminary students.

When we arrived in the chill of the morning, Bay Leaf members greeted us, warming our bodies and our hearts. We were offered sausage biscuits, doughnuts, coffee and cider from smiling faces and big trays and tables. We then saw that you cared enough about us to be amazingly organized and efficient in moving a large number of people through the process and helping us all understand what was going to happen.

Even with the experience of last year, I was still stunned when we entered the Toy Chest shopping area. I believe Bay Leaf had even more gifts on the table than what I remembered from last year. We have four children to shop for and should have had a game plan, but but any plans were lost as I stood there and looked around in amazement. I eventually came to my senses and joined my SEBTS brethren in enjoying the blessing.

Our shopping experience was wonderful. We filled two bags with fantastic gifts. When we returned, we were one of the families that won “Build – A – Bear” gift cards and clothing accessories during the raffle portion of the event. All of these are gifts that will make for a very Merry Christmas in our home, bringing smiles to children that range in ages from two to fifteen. We will let them know what a blessing you have been to us and that it is only through your generosity that “K” (wife name) and I receive the privilege of passing it along to them. I pray that they too will remember the love you have shown us and it will be an example for them to emulate as they mature as Christians.

Indeed, it probably was the motivation, attitude and expressions of the people of Bay Leaf that were most impressive to me. As we entered into a time of prayer before shopping began, we were told that this event was something you loved doing and that it brought you joy. That was apparent in the number of members that came out to serve on a cold Saturday morning. The next day, as I taught middle school Sunday school, the concept of “ministry” came up. The word gets used a lot around churches, sometimes without people knowing what it really means. We gave it the simple definition of “serving others”. I was able to illustrate the definition by pointing to Bay Leaf as a church that does understand ministry, and does it very well.

The Toy Chest is a wonderful ministry and we are truly thankful that you have been willing to bless us through it over the past two years. WE hope to carry the Bay Leaf model and the Bay Leaf spirit with us as we move forward in our own ministry efforts. May God continue to bless you in all you do. Merry Christmas!

In Christ, The “S” Family

Dear Bay Leaf Baptist Church,

My Wife and I are still trying to process the blessing that we received this morning from the Toy Chest. I did want to get the name of Mr. and Mrs. Rogers who made the Doll House that we won in the raffle. We would love to send them a thank you card and then a picture from Christmas when we give it to our daughter. Thanks again so much for your service this morning. We are truly humbled and grateful for how your church loved on us today.
